Who We Are

Action for Rural Improvement and Socio-Economic Service (ARISES) Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering rural communities, particularly women and children in Tamil Nadu. Established in 2014, ARISES Trust works towards women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, livelihood development, and deaddiction support. Our guiding motto, “Serve Women and Save Children,” reflects our unwavering commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities through sustainable development initiatives.

We believe that empowerment begins with opportunity. By fostering self-reliance, education, and healthcare, we equip individuals with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and lead dignified, self-sufficient lives.

ABOUT OUR TRUSTEES


Mrs. ALPHONSE SAHAYA MARY, has completed her Postgraduate in Zoology with B.
Ed, and also, she has also completed Master of Social Work. She has over 10 years
of experience in Teaching, Genera Health, Skill building and so on. she began his
career as a Project Supervisor at GIRH& FW, SAATHII. Mrs. Alphonse Sahaya
Mary
through her organization has been successfully addressing local challenges of
Rural Women and Children through multi-pronged approaches and targeted
interventions. During this journey of more than one decade she designed at elevating
the acquaintance and observed in empowering the rural poor women, so that they
could position themselves to mitigate the challenges encountered by them in their
Socio – Economic progress.

Mr. JESURAJ comes with an educational background of Bachelors in Development
Administration (BDA), Masters in Social Work (MSW – Community Development)
and Masters in Philosophy (Research and Development). He has work experience of
over 34 years and has worked with State and National Level NGOs including Loyola
College, Help Age India, CHAI, SAATHII, and TANSACS, State Disabled Office, etc.,
Mr. Jesuraj has been associated with ARISES for over 10 years. His core expertise
is programme management, strategic planning, technical and grant writing.
Currently, he is responsible for oversight and coordination of the programmes
implemented by ARISES. And also, presently he is the Financial Trustee at ARISES
Committee, facilitating financial management of the organization.

What We Do

1. Women’s Empowerment & Livelihood Development

Women are the backbone of strong communities. ARISES supports women by:
Forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to encourage savings, entrepreneurship, and financial independence.
Providing skill training in tailoring, organic farming, bamboo crafts, and eco-friendly product-making.
Launching Green Feminine, an initiative that empowers 300+ women to produce and sell sustainable products.
Offering financial literacy training to help women secure their economic future.

2. Education & Skill Development

Education is the foundation of progress. Our efforts include:
Free coaching centers for SC/ST and minority students.
Scholarships and mentorship programs for economically weaker students.
Vocational training and career counseling to enhance employment opportunities.
Improving school infrastructure, including sanitation facilities in girls’ schools.

3. Healthcare & Community Well-being

ARISES is committed to promoting healthcare access in rural areas through:
Regular health camps for maternal care, child nutrition, and general well-being.
Nutritious food support for pregnant and lactating mothers.
Hygiene awareness programs for adolescent girls, promoting menstrual health and sanitation.
Medical partnerships, including eye care initiatives with Aravind Eye Hospitals.

4. 24/7 Deaddiction & Rehabilitation Centre

Substance abuse can destroy lives, and ARISES is dedicated to offering a second chance to those in need. Our 24/7 Deaddiction and Rehabilitation Centre provides:
Medical detoxification and therapy for addiction recovery.
Counseling and behavioral support to address the root causes of substance abuse.
Rehabilitation programs that focus on social, emotional, and mental well-being.
Skill-building and vocational training to help individuals reintegrate into society.
Family counseling services to create a strong support system for sustained recovery.

Our Impact

Our Geographical Focus

We primarily operate in Authoor, Dindigul, and Sanarpatty Blocks in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu. These regions have high poverty rates and limited access to essential services, making our interventions crucial for community development.

Future Plans

We are committed to expanding our impact through:
Social justice and human rights initiatives for marginalized communities.
Empowerment programs for tribal women and rural entrepreneurs.
New skill training centers and production units to generate employment.
Establishing residential supplementary schools for tribal and socio-economically weaker students.
